Book covers for a collection of tragic love stories needed to be redesigned.
The collection spans through time, with stories ranging from old classics to new hidden gems. With each book having such different content, the challenge was making each cover individually strong enough to stand out, whilst also making it cohesive within the collection.

Custom styalised illustrations hero an obscure reference to each book, to entice potential buyers, engage readers who understand the reference, and stands out against dramatic, sorrowful visuals typically used in this genre. An expansive soft pastel colour palette works to enable each book to solely stand out against previous designs, and form. This soft, light palette also works to undermine the dark theme, which successfully masks the tragic twists present in each book.
